Glen Murphy MBE (born 6 April 1957) is a British actor and producer, best known as Firefighter George Green between 1988 and 2002 on the television drama London's Burning. Career [ edit ] Murphy was the only actor to remain throughout the entire run of London's Burning , which attracted 18.92 million viewers for its 5th series, and averaging 15 George Green was played by Glen Murphy From Series 1 to 14. George joined Blue Watch at the start of series 1. He was the longest-serving character on the show, appearing right up to the end of the final series. George was an unsubtle former boxer, sometimes with a short temper, and had old-fashioned views of women's roles in life.
