Wagheshwar Temple is a popular Hindu temple located in Wagholi, a suburb of Pune in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Wagheshwar Temple in Wagholi Pune. I am writing this post after a long time, and added old pics to showcase one of the best temple in Pune and around. This place is quite frequently visited by nearby people and from across Pune. It has its own charm during Mahashivratri. It is known as 'Wagheshwar Temple' in Wagholi, Pune. Introduction Wagholi, a historical village, that prospered in the Maratha period is situated 16 km east of Pune city. It is surrounded by a stone rampart with two entrances. The traces of which are still visible. This is the village of Pilajirao Jadhav, one of the eminent warriors who played an important role in the spread of the Maratha Empire. He constructed many buildings in and around this Boizenburg (German pronunciation: [ˈbɔɪ̯t͡sn̩ˌbʊʁk] ⓘ) is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany.It is situated on the right bank of the Elbe, 53 km west of Ludwigslust, 25 km northeast of Lüneburg and 50 km east of Hamburg.It is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region.Boizenburg's historical old town stretches along the Elbe Wagholi was added to the area under Pune Municipal Corporation in 2021. Wagheshwar temple is popular temple at Wagholi. The name Wagholi was derived from the local Marathi word "Wagh" meaning "tiger", and is connected to the temple of Wagheshwar which is located at the entrance to the mining complex 20 km north of Pune.
