Glaucus longicirrhus Reinhardt & Bergh, 1864. Description. Glaucus atlanticus can reach up to 30 mm in length. The body elongated, with the widest area right behind the head, and finishing in a pointed tail. The overall color is silver, with the rhinophores, oral tentacles and the lower edge of the cerata colored electric blue. The blue glaucus, which is also called the blue dragon, sea swallow, or blue angel, is a brightly colored nudibranch, commonly known as sea slugs. Found throughout the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans in tropical and subtropical waters, the blue glaucus grows up to 1.2 inches (3 cm) long. As it consumes its prey with a set of sharp serrated teeth, Glaucus atlanticus appropriates the victim's stinging cells and stores them in its cerata in a more highly concentrated dosage.
