This is a very popular area for backpacking, birding, and camping, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. Healy Pass Hike with Egypt Lake, Banff National Park. Distance: 28,4 km - 19,4 km return to Healy Pass & 9 km extra to Egypt Lake (took us 7 hours including breaks) Elevation gain: 1060 m (650 m if you hike to Healy Pass only) Maximum elevation: 2335 m. Difficulty: easy trail with gradual incline; the trail to Egypt Lake is a lot steeper. This multi-day hike to Egypt Lake follows Healy Pass to Egypt Lake Trail, with plenty of scenic views. It is recommended to bring numerous pieces of equipment and clothing, including snowshoes for almost any season, since the large amount of elevation change throughout the trail will lead to 1960 metres of difference from trailhead to lake.
