The view from the road side is breathtaking. Simply park your car by the road and move to the beach there are benches on the top where you can sit and enjoy the outstanding view. South Shore Park and Beach. Open for the 2022 season, the South Shore Terrace beer garden sits right on this beach on Milwaukee's South side. The site of the Appomattox lies in 15 to 20 feet of water, approximately 150 yards off Atwater Beach in the village of Shorewood, Milwaukee County.
