Sunrise. Maakua Ridge Path is a 6.0-kilometer moderately trafficked circular hike situated in Hauula, Oahu, Hawaii. The trail is graded moderate and has magnificent wild flowers. The route is accessible year-round and provides a variety of activities. The Challenging Ma'akua Ridge Trail. A nice easy stroll through the woods located on the Windward Hiking Ma'akua Gulch started off as we passed the concrete wall of assorted graffiti until we left the paved road and dropped into the stream bed that lead us deeper into the gulch where the canyon walls soon became claustrophobic until we climbed up to some waterfalls and turned back around to come back and rappel it from the back. The Ma'akua Ridge Trail (Papali Trail) is located near Hau'ula, Hawaii. The trail is great for hiking and trail running and normally takes 1-3 hours. It's a nice distance, and with lots of shade, it's a good hike to do any time, any season.
