These are unedited observations of human activities in the public space, all made in China. The rush in China after 1989 is almost brutal and cynical. I recorded the economies in all possible forms Ms. Konrad, who was born in Salzburg, Austria, in 1960, and lives in Brussels and Rotterdam, has the relentless focus of Bernd and Hilla Becher, who spent more than 30 years making impeccable Aglaia Konrad is a photography-based artist whose work has focused mainly on metropolitan urban space.
