This weekend, 24 men and women leapt from Beirut's most renowned natural landmark: the Pigeon Rocks in Raouche, on the southern part of the city's corniche. The divers are in Lebanon for the first round of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2019, and come from 18 different countries. They plunged at speeds of up to 85 kilometres per hour The Red Bull Cliff Diving Series held it fifth competition in Beirut, Lebanon, on July 13 at the capital's Raouche Rock, making it the first time the landmark has hosted an international event. Britain's Gary Hunt won the men's competition, becoming the first diver in the series' history to score a perfect 10 from each of the five judges. When you register for the media activities, you will receive passes granting you access to the Raouche site parking for the days of July 11, 12 and 13. On July 14, the day of the event, your Raouche Rock is also known as Pigeon Rock. The word rocher in French is the source of the name (Rock in English). Offshore, Raouche Rock has a height of 60 meters and a width of 25 meters. It may be found in the center of Beirut's seafront. A 10-kilometer-long Cornish island called Manara is adjacent to it.
