As of the 2021 Federal Census, the Town of Orange is home to about 7,577 residents. Although it's population has been consistent over the past ten years, Orange has seen growth in it's community development and business sectors. With a focus on their community and education, the town renovated it's Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in 2004 The town was named after William, Prince of Orange. Many of the early settlers were lineal descendants of the first settlers at Plymouth and vicinity, and of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. They first settled in North Orange, which remains a scenic village. From 1780 to 1840, Orange was primarily a farming town. On October 15, 1783, the District of Orange was formed.
