The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox recently announced that they'll be honoring Ernie Banks and Minnie Minoso by wearing late-1950s throwback uniforms when they play each other on July 12 and again on Aug. 14. It's a nice gesture, and it fits comfortably within the well-established routine of teams honoring their past by wearing throwback designs. Interestingly, the team wore the blue throwbacks in the two prior seasons (2007 and 2008), and reprised them once again in 2012. 2009 was the only year for the white throwback.
